Resumen
The evaluation of scientific journals in the National Bibliographic Index (IBN) has been a process of continuous improvement towards the strengthening of Colombian scientific journals. This process initiated at the end of 1990s, but it was only in 2001 when the first set of requirements and basic conditions were introduced.
