The Impact of new technologies on wages in Colombia: An analysis with Quality-of-life survey

Resumen

Este documento evalúa el impacto de las nuevas tecnologías en los salarios en el Mercado laboral colombiano durante el año 2018. En el análisis se utiliza un modelo de emparejamiento por puntaje de propensión (Propensity Score Matching) con el fin de evaluar el uso de las nuevas tecnologías en los salarios y años educativos de los colombianos con base en la Encuesta de Calidad de Vida del año 2018. Los resultados muestran que el uso de las computadoras, computadores portátiles, tabletas, internet, transferencia de documentos, MS Excel y radio utilizados para el aprendizaje tienen un impacto positivo en los salarios de los colombianos. Esta investigación permite comprender los efectos de la tecnología sobre los salarios y provee información para el diseño de políticas públicas para el desarrollo de competencias tecnológicas.
